Christmas Family Raceday

Begin the holiday season with spectacular Jumps racing. Celebrate with family, friends or colleagues, as you enjoy festive food and drink, brass bands, and Carol singing after the races. Children can look forward to a visit from Father Christmas, story-telling from Mrs Christmas, fairground rides and more.

The Animal Lawn

Father Christmas is never far from his reindeer, so the Racecourse plays host to Dasher, Dancer, Prancer and Vixen today. Visit the Plaza Lawns to meet Rudolph, as well as a range of other festive animals including Christmas birds and Clip Clop ponies who will be offering rides to children.

Father Christmas' Welcome Parade

Watch as Mr and Mrs Claus, along with a whole cast of festive characters, ride down the High Street and into the Parade Ring in their sleigh to welcome all racegoers to this extraordinary day of family fun.

The Welcome Parade begins at 11.15am. 

Family Entertainment

Children can enjoy face painting, gingerbread decorating, animal themed arts and crafts and soft play in the Grandstand today. Look out for our roaming entertainers including Scotty, The Greencoat Bear, Rudi the Reindeer and the Madagascar penguins as well as jugglers, balloon modellers and Bubble Joe, who will all be on hand to delight younger racegoers.

Bjorn the Polar Bear

Head to the Grandstand to meet Bjorn, the lifesize animatronic polar bear and his Inuit handler.

Ice Sculpture

Take the opportunity to take a festive family snap with our Ascot Christmas Ice Picture Frame. Marvel as the six-metre wide sculpture of the Grandstand is lit up with festive lights. 

Free Fairground Rides

For those in high festive spirits, the racecourse fairground returns for 2019. A range of rides are available, including family favourites - Tea Cups, Swing Boats, Helter Skelter and Train Rides.

Carols

Join us after the racing for traditional Christmas carols in the iconic Ascot Grandstand. The singing will be accompanied by the Ascot Brass band and The Tootsie Rollers. 

Mrs Christmas' Storytelling

Mrs Christmas returns to Ascot with new yuletide tales from the North Pole. Children can sit in her reindeer stable in the Grandstand and enjoy her fascinating stories about elves and Father Christmas’ journey on Christmas morning.
