UAE King soars to success on King George Friday

UAE King, the son of Frankel, soared home to win the John Guest Brown Jack Handicap Stakes for Silvestre De Sousa and Roger Varian.

The regally bred colt made it three wins on the bounce despite seemingly making hard work of it going into the final furlong, before soaring away after encouragement from De Sousa.

On Her Toes caused a surprise in the Carraig Insurance British EBF Valiant Stakes, beating a number of hugely exciting rivals to pull clear near the line for William Haggas who was as surprised as many with the result.

Mythical Magic was an impressive debutant winner for Godolphin and looks to have a bright future after walking clear of the field despite being on his toes beforehand.

It was a perfect start to the weekend for Hugo Palmer and Josephine Gordon who won the opening race of the weekend with the running-on Jousi in the John Guest British EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes.

The most gritty display of the day goes to Gawdawpalin who won a rough John Guest Handicap Stakes with plenty of contact between rivals occurring in the straight.

There was a popular winner in the fifth race of the day as Jack Dexter never looked like being caught when pulling clear to win for Jim Goldie.

In the final race of the day, Intense Romance and Callum Rodriguez landed the spoils.
