Racing Together Community Day

In support of the Racing Together Community Day on Thursday, 9th May 2019, British racing’s national day of employee volunteering, a Food Bank Drive was held at the racecourse to help vulnerable people in the local area.
Local residents, racegoers and Ascot employees generously donated food items which will be distributed to the following foodbanks: Windsor Foodshare, Woodley Foodbank; FoodShare Maidenhead Foodbank; Readifood, Reading; West Berks Foodbank; Bracknell Foodbank; Wokingham Foodbank; Crowthorne Foodbank & Slough Foodbank.
Lucy Saunders, Community Engagement Manager at Racing Together said: “Ascot really embraced racing’s national day of volunteering and helping others by encouraging both their team members and racegoers to support worthwhile causes with donations to their food bank. It was brilliant to see the baskets filling up and overflowing during the fixture as more people arrived with carrier bags full of useful items which will provide help to those in the local area who are in a time of need.”
