The first dedicated family day of 2017 at Ascot is always the perfect start to spring and features a number of fun activities for all ages.

A family of four can enjoy the full day of entertainment on and off of the track for £48.

The Lamb National An Annual Highlight

The Lamb National returns to Ascot once again and remains a crowd favourite.

Featuring six Herdwick sheep, infamous ‘Red Ram’, ‘Mint Sauce’ and friends will take to the Queen Anne Lawns for a race over mini fences in between racing.

Animal Zone

Located on the Pavilion Lawn underneath the Ascot sign, the designated petting area will enable younger racegoers to get up close with their furrier friends. Demonstrations include:

Live Demo Zone The Lamb National

Hosting the famous Lamb National, the Live Demo Zone located on the Grandstand Lawn will be a hive of activity throughout the day. Deomonstrations include:

Agriculture Zone

Situated on the Queen Anne Lawn, the Agriculture Zone will host Countryside and Springtime themed activities and demos throghought the day. These include:

Hedgehog meet and greet

Flower arranging demos

Bees and honey making workshop

Bygone Country Skills demo

Special Guests Peter Rabbit™, The Gruffalo and Scotty

As well as the zoned family fun, Ascot welcomes special guests Peter Rabbit™ and The Gruffalo

The characters will be making personal appearances to meet and greet racegoers at separate intervals throughout the day.

Plus the Ascot mascot Scotty will be on hand to ensure all young racegoers are enjoying themselves.

Pony Rides and Face Painting

Alongside the exciting zones around the grounds, Clip Clop Pony Rides, free face painting and live music are among more entertainment which will be on offer.

Some lucky racegoers will also be handed free mini eggs and sweets to celebrate the start of the Easter holidays.

The racing The Jumps Finale

The Spring Family Raceday draws a close to the jumps season at Ascot, with the £40,000 Ascot Novices' Handicap Chase the feature race.

The seven race card could have significant pointers towards the Grand National meeting at Aintree later in April and will also host a number of experience horses and big-race winners in the Veteran's Handicap Chase.

What to wear Flat Season

King Edward VII Enclosure and Winning Post Enclosure

Ladies generally like to dress for a smart occasion.

Gentlemen usually wear a jacket with a collared shirt and tie.

Whilst this style of dress is preferred it is not compulsory during the jumps season. 

Queen Anne Enclosure

Whilst we encourage racegoers to wear smart clothing, no formal dress code applies to the Queen Anne Enclosure.

Please arrive early. As a major national event we take our security obligations very seriously and are conscious of events around us, as are the hosts of other major sporting events. There will be delays at the entrances and racegoers and participants alike are advised to arrive early.
