Berkshire Summer Games

The Berkshire Summer Games, run by Get Berkshire Active, took place on 27 June at Bisham Abbey.

The day saw 1,094 participants in 129 teams from 82 different schools across the county take part in a range of sports and challenges including rowing, athletics, cricket and tag ruby  to name a few.

A cultural village formed part of the festivities which enables children of all abilities to try out some alternative activities such as ultimate frisbee, laser run and Ascot’s equiciser, a mechanical horse that simulates what it feels like to be a jockey –over 400 children dropped by to Ascot’s stand to jump on “Abbey”, nicknamed  by the children in recognition of the event taking place at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre - one of the principal sports training camps in the UK.

Ascot is one of the proud sponsors of the games which take place in the summer and winter and which forms part of Get Berkshire Active’s programme of getting more people, more active, enjoying the benefits of more and better sport in Berkshire.
