Royal Ascot is always a perfect opportunity to dress up and, despite having to take place behind closed doors, this year’s renewal will be no exception. Ascot is proud to have launched a charitable campaign designed to both inspire those at home to embrace the Royal Meeting’s incomparable sense of style while raising funds for those working on the frontline of the global COVID-19 crisis.

The racecourse launched its #StyledWithThanks fundraiser with a £100,000 donation which, along with all money raised during the campaign, will be split between four key charities.

Fans around the world are invited to get involved by styling a colourful Royal Ascot outfit and, if they can, donating £5 to the cause. By sharing a photo of their outfit on social media using the hashtags #StyledWithThanks and #RoyalAscot and encouraging friends to do the same, they can help spread the #StyledWithThanks message to support frontline heroes and those affected by COVID-19.

Prizes will be awarded to the most elegant, original and uplifting outfits judged by a panel of fashion industry experts, with all photos to be incorporated within a giant rainbow tribute that will become a permanent installation at the racecourse. Ascot’s Partners and Suppliers Longines, Moët & Chandon and Garrard have generously donated some fantastic prizes for the campaign, while there is also a fantastic family prize on offer.

Ascot has also invited numerous British milliners to design a special rainbow-themed hat or headpiece, in keeping with the nation’s use of the rainbow as a symbol of thanks to the NHS and frontline workers. The collection features creations from such acclaimed names as Stephen Jones OBE, Jane Taylor and Rachel Trevor Morgan, all of which will be auctioned online during Royal Ascot week with every penny raised being added to the #StyledWithThanks charitable fund.

Furthermore, Ascot has partnered with a number of key British designers, each of whom has sketched illustrations of their dream Royal Ascot outfit, again following a rainbow theme. The illustrations are hoped to serve as colourful inspiration for those at home when planning their own #StyledWithThanks ensemble.
