Last year’s winner Sam Spinner heads 21 entries for the Grade One £100,000 JLT Hurdle (Registered as the Long Walk Hurdle) which is the highlight of the Christmas Racing Weekend at Ascot on Saturday, 22nd December.

The six-year-old recorded an impressive first success at the highest level in the race in 2017 and his rivals this year could include former Cheltenham Festival winners Faugheen, Samcro, Unowhatimeanharry, Apple’s Jade and Benie Des Dieux who all feature in the entries.

Clan Des Obeaux is the top rated horse among 32 entries for the Listed £100,000 Silver Cup Handicap Chase while last year’s winner Gold Present is among the entries as well as The Last Samuri, Regal Encore, Benatar and Present Man.

The last three winners of the £150,000 Ascot Handicap Hurdle could go head to head this year as Brain Power, Hunter’s Call and Jolly’s Cracked It all feature among 42 entries.

Several unexposed young horses are also in the mix including the likes of We Have A Dream, Western Ryder, Apple’s Shakira and Call Me Lord.

The next entry stage for all three races is on 17th December.
