Millinery and fashion worlds came together to support The National Emergencies Trust Coronavirus Appeal, NHS Charities Together, The Care Workers Charity and the Berkshire Community Foundation.
As an event which truly showcases the very best of British contemporary and traditional fashion and millinery, no Royal Ascot would be the same without a celebration of British style.
With Royal Ascot 2020 being held behind closed doors with people around the world being encouraged to celebrate at home while supporting the #StyledWithThanks fundraising campaign, Ascot and the British Hat Guild also joined forces to launch an online millinery auction that raised an incredible £24,000. Royal Ascot 2020 proved the catalyst for an overall total of £400,000 in fundraising activities with #StyledWithThanks contributing £166,000 overall. Find out more here.
Royal Ascot and the British Hat Guild, spearheaded by the legendary Stephen Jones OBE, invited leading British milliners to create a bespoke hat or headpiece featuring a rainbow theme, in-line with the nation’s use of rainbows to thank the NHS and frontline workers. The hats were auctioned online throughout the week of ‘Royal Ascot At Home’ with all money raised being added to the charity fund.
The outstanding collection of hats and headpieces were a true showcase of craftsmanship and skill and each individual work of art has now been sent to its new owner – we hope to spot many of them at Royal Ascot 2021.
Ascot would like to thank each and every designer listed below for their generosity and support for the campaign, in what really is an extraordinary year, as well as the wider millinery and fashion worlds who so beautifully championed the campaign with their colourful designs and outfits shared on Instagram.
