On Saturday 3rd November the Jumps season returns with a bang! Ascot Racecourse will kick off the season with a memorable day out for all the family. As well as top-class Jumps racing there will be free fairground rides and live entertainment culminating with one of the region's largest firework displays.

Racegoers will watch the most successful Jumps jockeys race over one mile, six furlongs. The £100,000 Sodexo Gold Cup Chase over three miles is the feature race of a seven-race card on the track.

Off the track, fairground rides include the Sizzler Twist, The Superbowl, Dodgems and Teacups. Rides are free of charge until 4pm and cost just £1 after with all proceeds going to various local Berkshire charities and schools. Face painting, clip clop pony rides, balloon modellers and jugglers will perform and Scotty the Ascot Mascot and the Ascot Greencoat Bear will keep the little ones entertained throughout the day.

Adults can treat themselves to warming Toffee Apple Punch, a Smoked Cherry Old Fashioned, Hazelnut Hot Cocoa and Mulled Gin & Juice while watching the races.

In keeping with a ‘Festival of Lights’ theme there will be LED sculptures, glow-in-the-dark art installations, light entertainers and LED graffiti walls, all of which will come to life as the evening draws in before a spectacular 20-minute fireworks display with more than 20,000 shots fired from the centre of the racecourse’s track.

Tickets start from £19 for the Queen Anne Enclosure when booked in advance and under 18s go free (when accompanied by a paying adult).

Guidance on travelling to and from Ascot and thoughtful, practical advice for families covering every element of the day is available on Ascot’s website. Maps can be found in the racecard on arrival or accessed via the free Ascot App highlighting buggy parks and changing and feeding facilities for little ones, along with specially designed racecards for young enthusiasts.
