To celebrate the festive season, Ascot Racecourse has worked with Pretty Sweet London – the high-end patisserie service from international pastry chefs Claire Clark MBE and Sarah Crouchman – to create a 5.5m long Giant Gingerbread Grandstand.
The impressive creation will be unveiled at the Christmas Racing Weekend, Friday 21st & Saturday 22nd December, as thousands of racegoers attend the racecourse’s final race meeting of the year. Taking more than 400 hours to design, bake, build and ice, Ascot’s Giant Gingerbread Grandstand is set to be a show-stopping masterpiece as the festive holidays commence.
With Saturday 22nd December being a dedicated family raceday there will be plenty of seasonal fun in store for all ages, including a visit from Father Christmas and his reindeer, storytelling from Mrs Christmas, gingerbread biscuit decorating, pony rides, the Ascot Elf Academy, carol singing, festive crafts and free fairground rides.
The Giant Gingerbread Grandstand will be in situ at the west end of the Grandstand and form part of Mrs Claus’ Kitchen where she will be hosting storytelling and gingerbread decorating for children.
