The Royal Ascot #StyledWithThanks campaign inspired the nation to dress up and celebrate the Royal Meeting from the comfort of their own homes, in the process raising funds for The National Emergencies Trust Coronavirus Appeal, NHS Charities Together, The Care Workers Charity and the Berkshire Community Foundation. Royal Ascot At Home proved the catalyst for a total of £400,000 in fundraising activities, with #StyledWithThanks programme contributing £166,000 – the rainbow-themed millinery auction raising £24,000 alone! Thousands of men, women, children and even animals participated and entered the #StyledWithThanks competition and the judging panel had the tough task of selecting winners for the four categories.
Legendary British milliner Stephen Jones OBE; Chief Executive of the British Fashion Council Caroline Rush; Head of Fashion at the Daily Telegraph, style commentator and author Lisa Armstrong; and Vice President of Marketing for Longines Matthieu Baumgartner made up the judging panel and together awarded the following prizes:
, who’s understated and elegant look ticked every box and summed up everything that is stylish and celebrated at Royal Ascot. Satoko has won a Longines Timepiece plus a pair of tickets to Royal Ascot 2021. Runners up for this category are @giorginaclavarino
, who showed you can be fabulous and enjoy vibrant fashion at home won the title of Most Uplifting. Her colourful and uplifting ensemble wowed the judges. Naomi has won lunch for two at Jason Atherton’s Pollen Street Social with a bottle of Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage plus a pair of tickets to Royal Ascot 2021. The runners up were @lowie131
, showed you can be stylish and witty with her eye-catching lavatory paper ‘binoculars’ and colourful shower puff headpiece ensured she came top of the pack for her creativity and playful outfit. Helen has won an Afternoon Tea and Tiara Experience for two at the House of Garrard's flagship boutique in London plus a pair of tickets to Royal Ascot 2021. The runners up were @eda_rose_milliner
All of the runners up for each of these categories will receive a pair of tickets for the Queen Anne Enclosure at Royal Ascot 2021.
Children’s Prize – Esmae (aged 7) created her own bespoke hat featuring an array of colourful handmade flowers and rainbow butterflies, with the help of her mum. She was commended for her creativity, enthusiasm and fantastic outfit photo pose. Esmae has won two annual Family Raceday passes for Royal Ascot 2021 and a hamper full of Ascot Shop goodies. The runners up were Albert (3), Ty Sutherland (11), and Jacob (9) and Seren (7). They all win a pair of tickets for the Spring Family Raceday in 2021 and an Ascot Jockey Bear.
With more than 5,000 entries into the competition and more than £166,000 raised for frontline charities, Ascot would like to extend its thanks to everyone who participated and contributed in aid of these worthy causes. Royal Ascot At Home made for a truly memorable year and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to the racecourse for Royal Ascot 2021.
