Owing to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and uncertainty as to when spectators will be able to return to Ascot Racecourse, we are currently not selling tickets to any of our racedays, with racing remaining behind closed doors until further notice.
Nevertheless, we very much hope you will enjoy following all the action from home.
Ascot’s Jumps season draws to a close with seven compelling races on Sunday 28th March.
Each of the two feature contests is expected to draw a number of quality contenders to have shown promise throughout the 2020/21 campaign, with some likely to have had their last start at the Cheltenham Festival.
Second in the two-mile-one-furlong Novices’ Handicap Chase in 2019 for instance was Caid Du Lin, an impressive winner of the Gerard Bertrand Hurst Park Handicap Chase at Ascot earlier that season who had performed with credit in the Grand Annual. Similarly, the card’s Juvenile Handicap Hurdle could include some interesting prospects. Notable among its recent winners is Lil Rockerfeller (2015), who would go on to win the Grade 2 Coral Hurdle back at Ascot in 2017, beating future Grade 1 Aintree Hurdle winner L’Ami Serge and the dual Cheltenham Festival scorer and winner of Ascot’s Grade 1 Clarence House Chase in 2020, Defi Du Seuil.
Also on the card is a three-mile Veterans’ Handicap Chase that invariably attracts several well-loved stalwarts of the National Hunt scene nearing the end of their racing careers. The 2019 renewal was won by the popular David Pipe-trained Rathlin Rose, who along with jockey Tom Scudamore had also taken the race twelve months previously.
The concluding Open Hunters’ Chase is another enjoyable contest featuring a number of familiar names from the point-to-point circuit; the latest edition was won by Virak, a former Grade 2 winner and runner-up in Ascot’s Listed Sodexo Silver Cup Handicap Chase unbeaten in all four of his point-to-point starts.
We look forward to welcoming racegoers back to Ascot at the earliest possible opportunity. Raceday ticket information will be updated early in the new year; should you wish to be notified of any developments, please complete your details below.
