This headline race day of our two-day Italian Tourist Board Festival of Food and Wine Weekend is a real feast for the senses. Top class flat racing takes place amid a host of culinary attractions, a day when elite sports people and culinary experts share top billing.
Saturday’s race card is headlined by The Lavazza Handicap Stakes, one of the UK’s most valuable mile-and-a-half handicap. Six more ultra-competitive flat races take place.
The Gastronomes Theatre offers talks and demonstrations from the likes of Raymond Blanc OBE and James Tanner, with samplings and tastings from Lavazza Coffee, Chapel Down and Hallgarten Wines. Racegoers will be able to sample and purchase food and wines from more than 40 stalls.
Gates open at 11am.
Why not get involved with our wine tasting? Purchase vouchers on the day to taste a variety of wines - recommended by Hallgarten Wines.
Raymond Blanc OBE and James Tanner will be among those giving demonstrations in the Gastronomes Theatre on the Saturday.
