This headline race day of our two-day Italian Tourist Board Festival of Food and Wine Weekend is a real feast for the senses. Top class flat racing takes place amid a host of culinary attractions, a day when elite sports people and culinary experts share top billing.
Saturday’s race card is headlined by The Lavazza Handicap Stakes, the UK’s most valuable mile-and-a-half handicap. Six more ultra-competitive flat races take place.
The Gastronome Theatre offers talks and demonstrations from the likes of Raymond Blanc OBE and James Tanner, with samplings and tastings from Lavazza Coffee, Chapel Down and Hallgarten Wines. Racegoers will be able to sample and purchase food and wines from more than 40 stalls.
Gates open at 11am.

The Parade Ring Restaurant is offering a four-course menu designed by Raymond Blanc OBE (Chef Patron of ** Michelin Belmond Le Manoir), James Tanner (Chef Patron of Kentish Hare and Barbican Kitchen), Matt Worswick (Head Chef at The Latymer * Michelin Star), Gemma Amor & Ben Dutson (Executive Chef & Regional Executive Chef, Ascot Racecourse) and Claire Clarke MBE (MOGB Proprietor of Pretty Sweet).
