This headline race day of our four-day Festival of Food and Wine is a real feast for the senses. Top class flat racing takes place amid a host of culinary attractions, a day when elite sports people and culinary experts share top billing.
Saturday’s race card is headlined by The Appletiser Stakes, the UK’s most valuable mile-and-a-half handicap. Six more ultra-competitive flat races take place.
The Gastronome Theatre offers talks and demonstrations from the likes of Raymond Blanc OBE, Great British Bake Off winner Candice Brown and wine expert Neil Philips. A BBQ Masterclass offers expert tuition. Racegoers will be able to sample and purchase food and wines from over 140 stalls (a complimentary shop and drop service offers further convenience).
