Quite simply, the most unique fixture in the global racing calendar. At no other racecourse, on no other day, do the world’s top jockeys come together to compete for the points to lift racing’s ultimate team prize. For many visitors, the off-track entertainment is every bit appealing with a post-racing concert on the Old Paddock Lawns and a free adrenaline-filled fairground. A sell-out in 2017, we would encourage you to book early.
The world’s premier international jockey’s competition has four competing teams: Great Britain and Ireland, Europe, the Rest of The World and The Girls’ team.
Live music post-racing is one of the most popular features of the day. The likes of Craig David, All Saints, Ronan Keating, Gabrielle, Razorlight, Blue and Rick Astley have performed here in the past. The 2018 line-up will be announced in the early New Year. Upgrades and hospitality also available. Under 18s go free when accompanied by an adult.

Each team has three riders, stellar international names. Every jockey is guaranteed five rides for their team. The teams are divided into: Europe, Great Britain & Ireland, Europe &; Rest of the World.
Household names will perform an exclusive free concert for racegoers from 4.30 until 8.30pm. In 2017, the concert was headlined by Craig David, with All Saints and Feeder also performing. 2018's acts will be announced in April...
Racegoers can indulge their youthful side at our free fairground that takes over the Bandstand Lawn.
Points will be awarded to the first five horses to finish in each of the six Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup races as follows - winner: 15 points; second: 10 points; third: 7 points; fourth: 5 points; fifth: 3 points. If there is a non-runner which cannot be replaced by a reserve, 4 points will be awarded both to the team and jockey missing out on the ride. The team with the most points after the six races have been run will receive the Shergar Cup at the closing ceremony.
