Racing Reimagined
A unique fixture in the global racing calendar as the world’s top jockeys come together to compete for the points to lift racing’s ultimate team prize. For many visitors, the off-track entertainment is every bit appealing with a post-racing concert on the Old Paddock Lawns which in 2018 saw Rita Ora, Example & DJ Wire, Soul II Soul and DJ Scott Mills. Other acts to have played in recent years include All Saints, Craig David and Ronan Keating.
The world’s premier international jockey’s competition has four competing teams: Great Britain and Ireland, Europe, the Rest of The World and 2018 winners, The Girls’ team.
Live music post-racing is one of the most popular features of the day, with King Edward VII and Winning Post Enclosure ticket holders benefitting from access to the 'Golden Circle' close to the stage. Upgrades and hospitality also available. Under 18s go free when accompanied by an adult.
Gates Open at 11am.
Household names will perform an exclusive free concert for racegoers after the action on the track. Check back to this page to find out who will be headlining in 2019.
Each team has three riders, stellar international names. Every jockey is guaranteed five rides for their team. The teams are divided into: Europe, Great Britain & Ireland, The Girls & Rest of the World.
Points will be awarded to the first five horses to finish in each of the six Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup races as follows - winner: 15 points; second: 10 points; third: 7 points; fourth: 5 points; fifth: 3 points. If there is a non-runner which cannot be replaced by a reserve, 4 points will be awarded both to the team and jockey missing out on the ride. The team with the most points after the six races have been run will receive the Shergar Cup at the closing ceremony.
