Frankel foal dazzles with Herculean display at Ascot

Frankel foal Herculean dazzled Ascot on debut to win the Charbonnel Et Walker British EBF Maiden Stakes under Ryan Moore at Ascot on Friday.

It could be QIPCO British Champions Day next for the winner of the Leo Bancroft Signature Hair Care Classified Stakes in the shape of Roger Varian’s Cape Byron.

It was a perfect start to the day for Ryan Moore who steered Speak In Colours to a comfortable success in the first division of the Twinings Novice Auction Stakes for Marco Botti.

The second division of the race was won by Richard Hughes, his first Ascot winner as a trainer, thanks to Odyssa who powered clear under Shane Kelly.

Ryan Moore completed his treble on the day as he had use all of his skill to guide Reverend Jacobs to a photo finish win over the gallant Hang Man finishing fast on the outside.

Great Hall and Fran Berry continued their form after Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup success to land the Victoria Racing Club Handicap Stakes.

Berry made a quick-fire double on board Leader Writer who landed the Weatherbys Handicap Stakes and the final race of the day was won by Mullionheir and Silvestre De Sousa.

Racing returns to Ascot on Saturday for the second day of the Festival of Food and Wine Racing Weekend. Tickets remain on sale. Find out more.
