In 2018, Ascot employees were given an allowance of one day per year in order to participate in volunteer activities that are either linked to activities that the Racecourse supports, or causes close to their hearts.
Employees have thoroughly enjoyed learning more about the amazing causes that the racecourse has chosen to support and being able to build relationships with those who also volunteer their time to help those most at need in the county.
Amongst the volunteer days held to date, a favourite was helping Sebastian's Action Trust in Crowthorne prepare their new Woodlands venue for an upcoming Christmas party for the children which entailed smoothing a pathway, erecting a Christmas tree and generally making the venue look festive.
Racing Together Community Day
Every year, racecourses come together to support their local communities. On the 11 May 2017, a team of racecourse volunteers visited Thames Hospice in Windsor to plant flowers and shrubs which were donated at the Spring Garden Show.
