Wine enthusiasts are invited to sample some of the finest international wines, including a Royal Ascot selection, at the Festival of Food and Wine Race Weekend hosted by connoisseurs Bibendum. Tasting notes will be available to help you pick the right wine for your palate.
Tasting vouchers are available in packs of five for just £6 from the Bibendum Wine stall inside the Grandstand.
Swirl the wine to release its aromas, enabling you to smell the full fragrance. To prevent you spilling it, leave the glass flat on the table, hold the stem between your fingers and move the glass in a vigorous circle.
Smell the wine to check it’s not faulty. Wet cardboard and nail polish are all smells associated with wine faults.
If you like the smell, go ahead and take a sip. To get the most out of your wine, you should move it around your mouth and move your tongue around it. You can either swallow it straight away or why not try to suck in a little air while the wine is in your mouth to help open up all of the flavours.
Tickets are available for the Festival of Food and Wine Race Raceday on Saturday 5th September from £25 on the door.Find out more by clicking here
