Royal Ascot’s most impressive winner, Lady Aurelia, could return to England for the Chevely Park Stakes at Newmarket later this year.
Alongside stablemate Acapulco, the Wesley Ward pair will return to Europe in August and both look set for English runs – with impressive mare Acapulco heading to York.
Lady Aurelia though will start off in Deauville and if all goes well there on August 21, could return to Newmarket for the Chevely Park Stakes after impressing on her British debut at Royal Ascot, winning the Queen Mary Stakes by seven lengths.
“Lady Aurelia is heading for Deauville and Acapulco to York, and the flight is booked for August 13 I think.,” Wesley Ward said.
“They are going to be working here on grass in about ten days' time, and they will be working on it just about every week as Keeneland have opened it up especially and it’s beautiful.
“We are keeping our options open, but I’ve been looking at the Cheveley Park Stakes for Lady Aurelia after Deauville.
“We are taking it one race at a time and I will have to talk it over with the owners and their racing managers, but it’s something I would like to do.”
