Dartmouth, owned by The Queen, won the Hardwicke Stakes on Day Five at Royal Ascot.
The Sir Michael Stoute trained four-year-old stormed to the front in the final furlong and held on after some contact with second place Highland Reel.
Some pushing in the final stages caused a lengthy Steward’s Enquiry, however The Queen was smiling in the Parade Ring as her horse came out on top.
It was the first winner of the week for The Queen after some promising runs early in the meeting.
The win was Sir Michael Stoute’s 75thRoyal Ascot winner, and he is now level with Sir Henry Cecil in the leading trainers stakes of all time.
