Her Majesty The Queen’s Royal Ascot hero Dartmouth could finish his impressive season in Hong Kong next month.
The Hardwicke Stakes success for Dartmouth was one of the highlights of Royal Ascot 2016 and The Queen’s reaction showed just how much it meant.
A brave run back at Ascot in the King George and then a gutsy second in the Canadian International behind Erupt has continued a positive season for the colt and more jet-setting is the aim with the Hong Kong Vase at Sha Tin on December 11tha possibility.
"We haven't discounted the idea of the Hong Kong Vase for Dartmouth,” John Warren, The Queen’s bloodstock racing advisor said.
“He has been very well since his second in the Canadian International and we will see how he is nearer the time."
"Hong Kong is on the radar and the decision as to his participation will be down to the wire.
"The horse has been tremendously consistent all year and it is absolutely the plan that he will stay in training next year."
Dartmouth has won twice at Ascot and the win this year was the first for The Queen at Royal Ascot since Estimate in the Gold Cup in 2013.
