We are delighted to welcome our first guests back into our newly designed Parade Ring restaurant today, following a period of closure for refurbishment earlier this year.
The Parade Ring is the most prestigious of Ascot’s restaurants, located, as the name suggests, overlooking the Parade Ring, with magnificent views of the horses parading below as well its own private viewing balcony with views over the Winning Post and racecourse beyond.
The design of the new Parade Ring restaurant takes its inspiration from a combination of the Parade Ring that lies below and millinery; an art that is inextricably linked to the racecourse and most widely celebrated at the Royal Meeting each June.
Further influence has been taken from the Queen Anne rose. The Queen Anne rose was introduced at Ascot as part of tercentenary celebrations in 2011 in recognition of our Founder, Queen Anne and guests will find its subtle pinks in the fabric, tiles and tableware throughout the restaurant.
Juliet Slot, Commercial Director, Ascot Racecourse said, ‘We are delighted to re-open the Parade Ring restaurant today and welcome our first guests ahead of the Royal Meeting in just over five weeks.
The aim of the restaurant’s redesign has been to create an elegant and uplifting space for our guests, making the most of the natural light available and its unique location to ensure an exceptional day. New front of house and bar areas have been created to allow racegoers to enjoy different settings at different stages of their day. A new kitchen with upgraded facilities has also been built to ensure the highest quality food.
The elliptical forms of the Parade Ring and hats are reflected in the furniture which includes oval backed chairs and curved tables. Guests will also enjoy a display of the Royal Ascot Millinery Collective as they arrive, featuring Royal Ascot designs curated by the UK’s top milliners including Stephen Jones and Philip Treacy designed especially for the occasion.
Finishes include brass, marble, chevron timber floors and artisanal ceramic tiles. There is also a new timber batten ceiling and new lighting throughout, as well integrated screens allowing guests to enjoy the racing from the comfort of their own table.
It’s a stunning space and we’re looking forward to sharing it with our guests over coming months and years.”
The redesign of the Parade Ring restaurant has been undertaken by London based studio, SSH Architects Interior Designers.
Royal Ascot will be held from Tuesday 16thto Saturday 20thJune 2015. The Parade Ring sits within the Royal Enclosure at Royal Ascot. You can enjoy the Parade Ring restaurant at Royal Ascot from £1,260 per person + VAT.
