French raider New Bay has the Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot in his sights this summer.
Racing manager Teddy Grimthorpe has confirmed Khalid Abdullah is yet to decide on the next destination for New Bay, who ran well in behind Golden Horn in the Arc at Longchamp in October, beating the likes of Treve and Free Eagle home in a hugely competitive race.
Despite not yet racing outside of France, New Bay could make his first appearance this season at Royal Ascot in June where he could battle some familiar faces from the Arc.
The Arc will again be the main goal for the impressive colt, however a trip to England has been discussed with the famous Frankel coulours set to be on show again at Ascot.
"New Bay is in very good form,” Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager to owner Khalid Abdullah, said on Sporting Life.
"We might think about something like the Prix d'Ispahan as an early target but it is too early too say that he is definitely going to run there.
"He would have the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot as an option if we wanted to go down that route, while I would think that the Arc will be the main goal again."
Impressive wins in France lead New Bay to be one of the favourites for the Arc and if a trip across the channel materialises this summer, plenty of eyes will be on the son of Dubawi to find top form.
