The Jumps season promises to get off to a memorable start at Ascot Racecourse with the annual Fireworks Spectacular on Saturday 4th November, offering a day of dramatic Jumps racing followed by one of the region’s biggest and best firework displays.
The £100,000 Sodexo Gold Cup Chase over three miles is the feature race of seven and there’s plenty of fun to be had off the track with an epic fireworks display from 6.30pm.
Offering racegoers more than 20 minutes of uninterrupted fireworks and well over 10,000 individual shots there’s also a fairground on the lawns with rides free of charge until 4pm and just £1 thereafter, with proceeds being donated to local Berkshire charities.
White-knuckle fairground rides include the Sizzler Twist, The Superbowl, Oxygen and Dodgems (or similar). There’s also a few gentler rides such as Mini Jets, Teacups and clip clop pony rides for the under-10s so there’s a thrill for all ages.
The perfect day out for families, there will be an interactive Guy Fawkes Garden telling the story of the gunpowder plot on the Cedar Tree Lawn, The Bandstand will become a bonfire for one-night only and there will be a Colts & Fillies mad science show at 5pm in the Exhibition Hall with a free drink and cookie for children from 4.30pm.
With glow sticks and other Bonfire Night items on sale and plenty of illuminating fun alongside the season’s first Jumps race meeting, the Fireworks Spectacular at Ascot Racecourse is not to be missed.
The King Edward VII Enclosure is the perfect place to spend the day with plenty of viewing areas for the fireworks on the fourth floor of the Grandstand – be quick though as tickets are nearly sold out.
There is still plenty of availability in the Queen Anne Enclosure starting from just £24 for a day of horse racing with one of Berkshire’s best fireworks displays in the evening.
Don’t forget that all children under the age of 18 enter Ascot Racedays for FREE too making it excellent value for families!
