However, it was 5/1 shot King Bolete who impressed from the front and stole a march to win for Andrea Atzeni.
William Buick was at the double in the Carey Group Buckhounds Stakes as he saw Elite Army home ahead of Scotland.
Another photo finish saw Light And Shade win at 11/2 in the EBF Breeders’ Series Fillies’ Handicap Stakes under a good ride from Martin Harley.
Finally, William Buick picked up his hat-trick in the last race of the day as Normandy Barriere impressed to win the Rosling King Handicap Stakes over six furlongs.
