Come spring, summer, autumn and winter there’s something to keep the whole family entertained at Ascot.
Under 18s benefit from free entry at all Ascot Racedays (except Royal Ascot) with a full paying adult.
We have baby changing and feeding facilities for little ones as well as a soft play area at all Racedays. Older children can benefit from the free child-friendly entertainment that runs alongside racing at all family days (with special activities on top for Colts & Fillies members).
In 2017, remaining family day dates include:
Summer Mile Saturday, Saturday 15th July
Bask in the summer sun at our Summer Mile Family Raceday, with plenty of free activities to keep the little ones entertained. Free traditional fairground rides on the lawns, a Teddy Bears’ Picnic, face painters, pony rides, craft activities hosted by Art Attack presenter Lloyd Warbey, and special visits from TV’s favourite characters are just a few of the things to look forward to. On the track the £110,000 Group 2 Fred Cowley MBE Memorial Summer Mile takes centre stage.
Fireworks Raceday Spectacular, Saturday 4th November
A raceday for families and friends of all ages, featuring the £100,000 Gold Cup Chase over three miles. Throughout the day there’s a great selection of children’s entertainment and fairground rides on the Lawns (free until 4pm), followed by one of the region’s largest Firework Spectaculars after racing, free to racegoers.
Christmas Racing Weekend, Saturday 23rd December
Celebrate at the Christmas Meeting as Ascothosts its most valuable day of Jumps racing.
It also features a visit from Father Christmas, story-telling from Mrs Christmas, free fairground rides, pony rides, carol singing and plenty of appearances from Santa’s little helpers as well as a big screen cinema after racing.
Prices start from just £24 for adults, free entry for children under 18, making it an excellent value day out.
Children are welcome at all Ascot Racedays (with the exception of Royal Ascot where they must be 10 years or older).
The Colts & Fillies Club
The Colts & Fillies Club is free for children age 17 and under and organises activities throughout the year which allow youngsters to engage in horse racing and learn about it in a fun and exciting way.
For 2017 the club will continue to have a horse in training with Eve Johnson Houghton enabling members to experience the thrill of racehorse ownership.
A large number of regular visitors to the races had their interest sparked as a child, usually by being taken racing by a parent who loved the sport. The club aims to ignite that spark in children by making it easy and free to be involved so that no child is excluded from enjoying this wonderful sport.
