Brothers Highland Reel and Idaho are set to face each other in the ultimate sibling rivalry for the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes (sponsored by QIPCO) after featuring among the 16 entries for Saturday’s contest.
The Aidan O’Brien-trained pair have history at the course having both won at Royal Ascot last month, with Highland Reel adding another Group One triumph to his CV in the Prince of Wales’s Stakes and Idaho reigning supreme in the Hardwicke Stakes.
Highland Reel will be defending his crown in the contest following a thrilling finish in last year’s renewal against Wings of Desire.
The Ballydoyle-trained pair feature alongside Investec Oaks heroine Enable - who is looking to become the first three-year-old filly to win the race since the brilliant Taghrooda romped to victory in 2014.
Other notable contenders include 2016 Prince of Wales’s Stakes hero My Dream Boat, Royal Ascot winner Benbatl, as well as Group One winners Jack Hobbs, Ulysses and Hawkbill.
