May Racing Weekend

Review & Results

Friday 12th – Saturday 13th May 2017

May Racenight

Join us for Ascot’s only evening fixture of the year, as our May Racing Weekend gets underway amid a relaxed Friday night atmosphere featuring live tribute bands playing music from the 1950s, 60s and 70s. With free racecourse tours, a host of food and drink options, including fine dining, and reduced pricing on tickets, it’s an after-work treat that shouldn’t be missed.

As well as a competitive six-race card, featuring races from five furlongs up to two miles, racegoers will be treated to entertainment and live music to get their weekends off to a memorable start under the lengthening late-spring daylight.

The highlight for Friday night will be performances from the Rollin' Clones and an ABBA tribute act after racing, while a Jersey Boys tribute act will be performing between races

The Experience

The Friday fixture of our May Racing Weekend is unique in itself – it is the only evening meeting of the season at Ascot and takes place amid a special atmosphere that signals the end of the working week, the start of the weekend and the lengthening of the summer evenings.

To accompany the action on the track racegoers can look forward to tribute acts performing sets from the 1950s through to the 70s. It's the perfect place for family and friends to gather.

The Rollin’ Clones were established in 1997 and have strived for authenticity by cherry-picking the best combination of musicians for an exceptional performance each and every time. The band perform well over 100 performances a year and are one of the very best Rolling Stones Tributes available in the UK and beyond.

Lead singer, Alex Larke, represented the UK at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest with duo Electro Velvet. Their performance was seen by 200million people worldwide. As a result, The Rollin’ Clones received invaluable national and international TV, press and radio coverage.
