What is a Founding Partner?
On-course branding.

Ascot Racecourse currently has three Founding Partners – Allied Irish Bank (GB), Cisco and Sony. Each of these Partners has a year-round relationship with Ascot, which includes a presence at Royal Ascot in June, and each Founding Partner receives a bespoke package of benefits which ensure that their individual objectives surrounding their Ascot relationship are achieved.

These benefits would include some, or all, of the following – on-course branding, permanent off-course branding, large allocations of badges for racedays throughout the year, superior hospitality on racedays including at the Royal Meeting, race sponsorship, non-raceday use of Ascot’s superb state of the art facilities, advertising opportunities, the opportunity to present a trophy at the Royal Meeting etc.

Each Founding Partner also has a unique benefit – for example Allied Irish Bank (GB) support the Allied Irish Bank (GB) Overseas’ Trainers’ Challenge which runs throughout each National Hunt season and provides cash prizes for the trainers from abroad who bring the most successful runners to Ascot throughout the season. Cisco has a Cisco Briefing Suite built into the Grandstand which is used for internal and external meetings – on racedays and non-racedays. Cisco was responsible for much of the new technology in Ascot’s new grandstand and so they are to give insight into their input into the project and then actually illustrate the technology at work to both Cisco personnel and to their partner companies. Sony hosted the first ever Sony United Day at Ascot in 2007 which was attended by over 3,000 of their staff from all sectors of the Sony business. This event gave Sony employees the chance to mingle with their colleagues, watch some top-class racing and then watch a Lemar, a Sony BMG artist, in concert after the racing.

Ascot are in the process of looking for one other Partner whose range of benefits will include the sponsorship of the most valuable flat race run at Ascot – The King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
