Saturday 27 September : The Mile Championships - 2nd Annual Beer Festival continues

The three day meeting in September is called THE ASCOT FESTIVAL

Racing Summary

A highlight of the Flat season and one of the feature race days of the Ascot calendar. The Queen Elizabeth II Stakes is Europe's top mile race and crowns the top miler in Europe. Also on the card are the Group One Meon Valley Stud Fillies' Mile and the Group Two Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes, for the top two year old milers. It was on this day in 1996 that Frankie Dettori went through the card winning all seven races and creating history!

Entertainment Summary
The second Annual Beer Festival continues in association with CAMRA, Fuller’s and Heineken; expect more than just exciting jumps racing at this extensive regional Beer Festival.

We are showcasing a huge variety of over 125 beers, lagers, perries and ciders including Summer Lightening from Hop Back Brewery returns to defend its title of the Ascot Racecourse Beer of the Festival. This prestigious title is awarded by racegoers across the weekend so competition in 2008 will be fierce.

Between racing customers will be serenaded by an English folk band as they enjoy the festival. Each voucher is purchased for £1.25 on the day. Vouchers can be redeemed against a half pint sample of any chosen beverage.
