Friday 26th September is the first of a three day meeting at Ascot. The feature race is The £250,000 Watership Down Stud Sales race for two year olds – which always attracts a huge field. This race is for two year olds fillies sold or bought in as yearlings under the hammer at any specified sale in the United Kingdom.
First Race starts at approximately 2.00pm
Entertainment Summary
You can expect more than just excellent quality racing, off the track visit the 3rd Ascot Racecourse Beer Festival in association with the Campaign for Real Ale and Fuller’s. We will be showcasing over 180 beers, ciders and perries; predominantly from local craft brewers.
Barbus Barbus from Butt’s Brewery in Great Shefford, Berkshire returns to defend its title of the Ascot Racecourse Beer of the 2008 Festival. This is very much a people’s award as it is the racegoers who will be voting for their champion ale.
Gates and bars open at 11am with the first race off at 2pm. A voucher system will be in operation for all Beer Festival ales, perries and ciders. Prices have been frozen at 2008 levels with a half pint costing £1.25 and a pint £2.50. A limited edition commemorative Beer Festival glass is available for £4.
